A lot of people on the left find woke culture silly and tiresome. There's a big difference between being anti-racist and believing in drivel like cultural appropriation, as I'm sure most understand perfectly well.
One of the 20th century's great writers, George Orwell, was a lifetime socialist, and some of his best writing is aimed at the idiots on his own side.

Met him a couple of times. Decent and intelligent bloke. He used to work at Foyles on Charing Cross Road stacking the shelves. Hence why he's probably so well read.
Leans left and I'd say the Pie's views align completely with Tom's.
He did say when I met him (prior to recent election) that if Labour got in, he'd probably have to retire Pie.

A left wing comedy character, reasoned enough to call out far lefty loonyism.
All decent politics is as approximately central, perhaps leaning one way or the other. Most people fall into this central area, but are drowned out by the minority who are too far out on their respective wing.

If you like the character, watch some clips of his show as well as the reporter clips. It’s slightly different and goes off in directions you wouldn’t necessarily expect.
At times it’s hard to work out when he’s being serious and when he’s being ironic

Simon Evans is very funny.
He punctures the lunacy of some lefty lunacy very intelligently with logic and without resorting to dumb name calling in contrast to the likes of Geoff Norcott (who is also funny when on form).
